Last Thursday, January 15th, the CHUS calls and demands that I arrive at the hospital for
After weighing both options; another operation or radiation – I opted for the latter – as I was informed that both offered the same result – and that if I chose the operation and they found other sites, I would be transferred to radiation anyway. The side effects seem to be less with the radiation than with another operation.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st I have a follow-up post-operation appointment with Dr. Bureau at his clinic and not at the hospital. I am in hopes that this goes well… not sure how much more bad news I can take right now. Sure seems like it’s been a long road, and I’m not out of the woods yet by any means.
Dr. Bessette said he would speak with the radiation specialist at the CHUS as he tries to get me in to see him within the next couple weeks – He dared tell me that it would probably be 5 weeks of daily radiation – Monday thru Friday. He also warned me of probable side effects; but I will know more in a few weeks when I have my appointment with the specialist.
All I can say is I’m anxious to be myself again – I get tired at nothing – takes all day just to regain energy from taking a shower, and I am told with the radiation I will be undergoing it will also make me tired. Oh boy! How can I get any more tired?
I will keep you posted with more news as soon as I know the next steps on this journey of life.
